Dominic Allan

Founder

An award-winning documentary filmmaker for 25 years, Dominic directed over 20 travel documentaries on location all over the world for Lonely Planet, Globe Trekker and Discovery Channel.

British and trilingual (English, Spanish and French), he has produced and directed a diverse range of films for international broadcasters. He spent a month with Nelson Mandela after his presidency while shooting a flagship biopic for the BBC, and was BAFTA nominated for his critically acclaimed feature documentary, Calvet.

At heart he is a passionate traveller and, having settled in Nicaragua, this inspired him to set up Real Latin America in 2015 with a crew of entirely local specialists and guides.

Once a year we come up with an invigorating itinerary for a small group guided personally by Dominic, designed to be eye-opening and deliver a real flavor of the region.
